All the best for the Festive Season | Wishing you all a Holy Christmas and a Healthy New Year

Dear Members

With our Christmas Drinks and our Christmas Charity Drive behind us, we hope we all got to enjoy Christmas with our loved ones. This being the first Christmas after the reversal of all Covid restrictions, you probably enjoyed it with a with a wider circle of family and friends and with more social interaction.

Not everyone is/was as lucky or blessed as us and it is always worth sparing a thought or a prayer or a helping hand for those less fortunate than us.

Membership 2023

We thank all of those who responded to the membership reminder. This is the final call for those who have not yet renewed.

Those of you who have not yet renewed and wish to renew you can do so by following this link. We will be clearing/refreshing the membership list in the first week of January 2023 so that those who are not interested in maintaining the membership will not continue to be innundated with emails from us.

Your membership contribution goes a long way to supporting the projects that XirCammini has embarked on and from which we all benefit.

We reiterate that those who wish to pay by Revolut can do so directly to XirCammini’s IBAN number by following this procedure:

For Revolut users: tap ‘Payments’ → ‘Transfers’ → ‘Send’ → ‘+ New’ → ‘Add a bank recipient’. You’ll be asked to add the bank transfer details. In this case these are name: XirCammini Bank: APS Bank, Address: you can input just Malta if requested. The important thing to input is the IBAN number: MT43APSB77013000000042921110018

We will be holding a Press Conference on this at the Admiral’s Hall in Fort St. Angelo at 17:00 on 9th Jnauary. It will also be attended by representatives of the Spanish Embassy in Malta, the Presidents of the Camminu St. Jacu, Sardegna and Cammino San Giacomo in Siciilia, an ex-President of the UK Confraternity of St. James and also by various mayors who have bee supportive of this and other XirCammini projects.

It would be great if we can see you there. Please register by following this link if you wish to attend. Registration is free but necessary becasue seats are limited.

Round Comino, 5th Feb 2023

For those who wish to experience or re-experience the beautiful Comino trek in winter please allow me to remind you to register via this link. A contribution is required (as indicated in the link) to cover cost of ferry crossings. This also serves as good Camino training for those heading out for a Camino later in the year.

This event is now fully booked.

Other Overseas Trips in 2023

Camino de Santiago de Compostela

There is strong interest in the Via de La Plata Camino and the Camino Portugues (Porto) and the Camino Portugues (Valenca/Tui). Some persons also requested to be registered and settled deposits before we even updated the link. The registration link on the above events has gone live in the weekend of 24th – 25th Dec and – if you are interested – we kindly ask you to register since we try to limit group size to not more than 20 Thank you. All these 3 caminos end in Santiago de Compostela and XirCammini assists with local land travel, baggage daily transfers and accommodation in addition to having an experienced trek leader with each group.

We will shortly provide more details about our other Caminos (Assisi and Ireland) in a subsequent mailshot

Regarding the Tochar Phadriag ((irish Camino) this is showing as ‘sold out’ but we will in fact re-open it so that interested parties can apply as soon as we identify larger or more accommodation and organise more land transport/logisitics. The response on this – even before we could put in a registration link – was outstanding.

Conclusion?

We take this opportunity to wish you again all the very best and hope to see you in XirCammini activities in 2023.

Sincerely … James & Tucc
