Kosovo, independent since 2008 and Europe’s youngest nation, presents a compelling narrative of resilience, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty, making it an increasingly attractive destination for travellers seeking authentic experiences. Kosovo has steadily built its identity, offering a unique blend of ancient history, rich heritage, and modern dynamism. Its strategic location in the heart of the Balkans, coupled with a welcoming people, positions Kosovo as a fascinating all-seasons country with something for every type of adventurer. From snow-capped peaks perfect for winter sports to sun-drenched vineyards producing exquisite wines, and from bustling city centres to tranquil mountain trails, UNESCO Heritage Christian Orthodox sites and Ottoman-era mosques and town centres, Kosovo is a land of captivating contrasts and endless discovery.
Kosovar gastronomy is a delightful fusion of Balkan, Ottoman, and Mediterranean influences, characterized by fresh, locally sourced ingredients and hearty flavours. While perhaps lesser known, Kosovo’s viticulture is experiencing a renaissance, particularly in the Rahovec (Orahovac) region. This area, with its favourable climate and fertile soil, has a long history of winemaking dating back to Roman times, with local wineries producing increasingly high-quality wines, primarily from indigenous grape varieties.
While there, we will also experience outdoor adventure, including for example mountain hiking and snow-shoeing, caving, ziplining, and/or via ferrata.
The trip includes one day in North Macedonia, exploring Matka Canyon.

Price | Deposit
Applicants will receive an invoice with the price payable in two instalments (deposit and balance) with dates indicated on the invoice. The price of this trip covers local transport and daily baggage transfers in Kosovo and Macedonia and accommodation on a shared, twin-room B&B basis (single supplement can be quoted if requested). Price also includes extensive, local training, an information session, and a trek leader.
