My sister and I completed the Camino Maltés in preparation for the Camino Portugués Central Route. James was extremely helpful, guiding us through the process of obtaining our credentials and accessing the route. Following his advice, we split the walk over two days; Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, as Malta was experiencing a heatwave.
We were impressed by the number of signs and directions along the route, which made the experience much easier and more enjoyable. We didn’t have to constantly check our phones and could simply enjoy the walk and our surroundings.
Passing through the villages also gave us a renewed appreciation of our heritage, religion and beautiful architecture, while making us reflect on the fast-paced development Malta is experiencing today.
