My family and I visited Wignacourt Museum, St Paul’s Grotto, Catacombs and WWII shelters in Rabat. There were some uniquely interesting exhibits such as the Galley Altar and the relics attributed to Pope Paul V and Don Juan Benegas. On the way to Mdina we stopped at the Ta’ Giesu Church with the relic from St Francis’ stigmata.

Talking to James Portelli (XirCammini), he was very knowledgeable, especially about the history of the Knights of the Order of St John and the Catholic church in Malta over the ages.
We ended the afternoon with a visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady in Mellieha, also intimately connected to St. Paul and St. Luke’s visit to Malta in 60AD.

We were very glad to have James accompany us on this journey and would highly recommend XirCammini’s walk in the Footsteps of St Paul to anyone visiting Malta.
