The Via di San Francesco (Via del Sud) is a pilgrimage route in Italy, inspired by the life and travels of St. Francis of Assisi, connecting Rome and Assisi through Lazio and Umbria. It blends natural, historical, and spiritual sites, ancient paths, mule tracks, and secondary roads, offering a journey through diverse landscapes and sites connected with the life of St Francis.

Route Summary
The southern Way of St. Francis begins in Rome and ends in Assisi, passing through Rieti, Greccio, Spello, Foligno, Trevi, and Spoleto, among other sites tied with the ministry of this humble saint. It is almost 260km long. The route retraces the steps of St. Francis, who frequently travelled between Assisi and Rome, passing through numerous Franciscan hermitages, sanctuaries, and churches.
The Way of St. Francis is not just a physical journey but also a spiritual one, offering opportunities for reflection and contemplation while traversing diverse natural landscapes, including forests, olive groves, and rolling countryside.

Price | Deposit
Applicants will receive an invoice with the price payable in three instalments (deposit, 1st and 2nd instalment) with dates indicated on the invoice. The price of this trip covers local transport and daily baggage transfers in Italy and accommodation on a shared, twin-room B&B basis (single supplement can be quoted if requested). Price also includes extensive, local training, an information session, and a trek leader.
