The Via di San Francesco (Via del Nord) is a pilgrimage route in Italy, inspired by the life and travels of St. Francis of Assisi, connecting La Verna and Assisi through Tuscany and Umbria. It blends natural, historical, and spiritual sites, ancient paths, mule tracks, and secondary roads, offering a journey through diverse landscapes and sites connected with the life of St Francis.
Route Summary
The Northern Way of St. Francis begins at the Sanctuary of La Verna and ends in Assisi, passing through Pieve Santo Stefano, Citta di Castello, Gubbio and Valfabbrica , among other sites tied with the ministry of this humble saint. It is almost 200km long. The route retraces the steps of St. Francis, who travelled in contemplation to La Verna, where the humble stalwart of faith received his stigmata. The Way of St. Francis is not just a physical journey but also a spiritual one, offering opportunities for reflection and contemplation while traversing diverse natural landscapes, including forests, olive groves, and rolling countryside. The trip includes rest day in Assisi at the end of the Camino before returning to Malta.

Price | Deposit
Applicants will receive an invoice with the price payable in three instalments (deposit, 1st and 2nd instalment) with dates indicated on the invoice. The price of this trip covers local transport and daily baggage transfers in Italy and accommodation on a shared, twin-room B&B basis (single supplement can be quoted if requested). Price also includes extensive local training, an information session, and a trek leader.
