P60 – “Ευχαριστώ” – Itria Evening Walk, Bidnija loop
June 12, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm CEST
FreeThe “re-opening” after the Covid-19 emergency measures coincides with the feast of the Holy Eucharist. Interestingly the word Eurcharist is derived from Greek; Eukharistia, meaning “thanksgiving” or Eukharistos meaning “grateful”
To show our gratitude as we walk again together we will be teaming up with #Cami Appelgren and combine with our evening walk a clean-up exercise. Please bring a garbage bag with you and wear a disposable glove.
The walk starts at 7:00 p.m. (please be there on time). We will meet next to Sagra Familja Church in Bidnjia. From Bidnija we’ll walk towards Zebbiegh and across to Bingemma Road up to the Church of our Lady of Ittria. The significance of this, as we start walking together again, is that this church’s dedication is “Hogitria” (again from Greek) “The lady that shows us the way.”’
From the Itria Church we will cross the Victoria lines over the Bingemma fault towards the Dwejra lines and Falka Gap looping back to Bidnija.
We kindly request all those intending to join us to follow the 6 health rules we listed in https://xircammini.org/covid-19/covid-19-keep-calm-carry-on-8/ under “Local Trekking | Health Directives”.
It is a 10km to 12km walk. Please wear trekking shoes, carry a light and water. Always wear a smile. It suits you. ?
This is not a power walk but we do try to maintain a brisk pace.
