The Melita Mariana pilgrimage offers a captivating journey through Malta and Gozo, immersing participants in the islands’ profound and enduring Marian devotion from Byzantine times to recent history.
The Camino Melita Mariana is a 3-day, 80-kilometre journey across Malta and Gozo, designed to explore the islands’ rich, ancient religious traditions, particularly their deep Marian devotion. It is an invitation into the slower rhythms of Maltese life, moving through limestone villages, coastal and rural areas etched with the history of Malta, with over 200 of the islands’ 359 churches dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Camino starts at Tas-Silg, an archaeological site in the southeast of Malta with early Byzantine Marian devotion and ends at the Sanctuary of ta’ Pinu in the northwest of Gozo.
Date: Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd November 2026.
