Description

Paladini introduced to Malta the gentleness and preciousness of Florentine Mannerism, which were added to the solemn manner of Matteo Perez d’Aleccio, the first artist to introduce the style on the island.”

After the successful launch of a Cultural angle to some of our hiking trips (Palermo in October 2023) and also in Malta in November, we intend to continue both the local cultural tours as well as the overseas ones.

In this one we will join VaiColTrekking for hiking and natural thermal bathing on the 15th – 17th March in Belice, Terme and Monte Monte Finestrelle (details of the VaiColtrekking event are included in the link) and we would then add 18th for a cultural tour of Palermo focusing on Filippo Paladini a Baroque / Mannerist artisit influenced by Polidoro da Caravaggio e Michelangelo Merisi (Caravaggio) and by the Florentine Mannerist period. Paladini has works both in Malta and Sicily (as well as elsewhere in Italy) and through these cultural angles we intend to explore overseas artists with a connection to Malta or Maltese artists with a connection overseas. Other such treks will follow.

The trekking itself is classified as light and you will also have the opportunity to enjoy hot spring baths (and spend a couple of nights on the resort itself) during this trip.
