Cammino di Sant’ Antioco, the Moor that came from the Sea | April 2026
€595.00
The island of Sant’ Antioco, historically known as Sulki, located in the southwest of Sardinia, has long served as a crucial Mediterranean port. This port was historically used for exporting minerals and food, resources that were exploited over centuries by various settlers and occupants, leaving their mark since Punic times. The historical link between Sardinia and Santiago de Compostela is further evidenced by tables dating back to 1466, which is why the Cammino di Santu Jacu commences at the Basilica of Sant’ Antioco. As XirCammini, we limit our Camino to the island of Sant’ Antioco and the rich tapestry of cliffs, beaches, azure sea, and tranquil skies that adorn this island. Our Camino is less than 100km long and we walk it during the week of the feast of Sant’ Antioco, experiencing also the welcoming hospitality of Sardinians during this festive season of their Patron Saint.
