Cynthia Far

Cynthia Far is a native artist with no conventional expertise on the subject who is fairly new to the scene. She started sketching and painting in 2017, on a warm summer’s evening after work, and was pleased with the outcome, and decided to share the image via online social networks. The positive responses she received were her motivation to go on with her art. She started by using pencils, graphite & charcoal, then went on to pastels, until she discovered acrylics. Cynthia tends to use brilliant, saturated colours, and her works convey a frozen motion of deep, still space. She allows herself to be transported and translates her emotions onto canvas sometimes in a frenzy and other times methodically and with much research behind the scenes. Her works have been sold locally and abroad and exhibited in various joint exhibitions in Malta and Gozo with local and foreign artists.

Cor Directionem
Why waste a clean card that held your veggies so tenderly just moments ago? Get creative with your pastels and listen to that inner voice, that fire inside you. Here Cynthia felt compelled to represent herself entangled yet peacefully at one with nature, holding a chameleon symbolising renewal, change, and adaptation.

Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.

Resurgence
This is a very meaningful painting to Cynthia Far with plenty of detail inserted that was carefully researched before committing it to canvas. The swallowtail-butterfly covering her smiling face symbolises her love for her native country, Malta, as it is an indigenous species of butterfly. It also symbolises her freedom of thought, taking flight. The intricate lace detail, the brooch & her attire were painted in metallic acrylic, as well as her earrings and button details, were all well-thought and purposely added.

Resurgence: pastels on veggie paper💚 32x45cm

Price: €300

Transfiguration

Departing from the Naïve art style this painting focuses on the longer full-bodied white figure, flanked by two subordinate figures, all on a radiant background at the centre which defuses into a dark red colour the further it is from the centre.

Natura

Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls💖 The Christian religion sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life 💪 It also symbolises a state of natural being and purity ✨
The caterpillar stage with its voracious appetite has been linked to insatiable materialism. The chrysalis stage represents fundamental changes occurring on the inside, for example in one’s mentality or point of view. The final adult butterfly stage is seen as the free expression of these changes in the outside world💫
