Emotional Journey on the Camino de Santiago

I started trekking because I had heard about the famous Camino de Santiago and wanted to experience it for myself. Little did I know what the Camino actually had to offer.

Having just completed the 100km trek from Vilalba to Santiago, I experienced everything the trail is renowned for: meaningful conversations, walking in companionable silence, moments of deep solitude, and times when I wondered if my body could take another step. It was an incredible emotional roller coaster, especially as we finally entered Santiago and joined the other pilgrims in the square in front of the Cathedral.

This journey was also packed with shared laughter, wonderful moments, and true companionship – all made even better by James’s (XirCammini) expert guidance and non-stop information sharing.

The Spanish terrain is breathtakingly beautiful to trek through, and the delicious local food was a constant highlight.
