(202600707R\, Level: Easy/Mod) Meeting Place: 2 hours before the flight at the airport \nChaucer and Dickens on the Canterbury Camino\nFollow this link to register for the event FULLY BOOKED | SORRY \nEmbark on a journey of literary\, historic and spiritual significance between Rochester (home to Charles Dickens) and Canterbury in the footsteps of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in Kent\, the Garden of England. \n \n \nIntriguing historic and religious personalities include St Augustine of Britain\, King John\, Thomas Becket\, John Fisher\, Thomas Moore\, the Holy Maid of Kent\, Christopher Marlowe and the setting for some of William Shakespeare’s plays\, such as King Lear and Henry V. So much of this comes alive during our Camino in Kent. \n   \nThe Camino is less than 100km long and is from the Cathedral of Rochester (England’s second oldest Cathedral) to Canterbury Cathedral (England’s oldest Cathedral). \nFlight details \nApplicants are to book their own flights. These are the suggested flights: \n\nTuesday 7th July 2026: Malta – London Heathrow KM100 07:05 – 09:45. This allows us sufficient time to visit Rochester at leisure on arrival in United Kingdom.\nSunday 12th July 2026: London Heathrow – Malta KM103 20:30 – 00:50 (+1). This allows us a day (between our arrival the day before and the whole morning after) to visit enjoy Canterbury.\n\nNote: XirCammini is a membership-based Camino/hiking association and not a travel agency. Hence\, XirCammini does not book flights. Where applicable\, XirCammini engages Walk.mt Ltd or other licensed travel operators for licensed incoming/outgoing travel agency requirements. \nPrice | Deposit \nApplicants will receive an invoice with the price payable in two instalments (deposit and balance) with dates indicated on the invoice.  The price of this trip covers local airport transfer/transport and daily baggage transfers in the United Kingdom and accommodation on a shared\, twin-room B&B basis (single supplement can be quoted if requested).
